Community Health & Wellness Initiatives

At Friends Organisation for Rural Development Society, we believe that good health is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone for building empowered and self-reliant communities. Our Community Health & Wellness Initiatives are designed to serve the underprivileged, especially those living in rural and remote areas, by offering accessible, preventive, and inclusive healthcare services.

We conduct regular health camps and awareness programs, focusing on early detection, treatment, and education to prevent common diseases and improve the overall well-being of vulnerable populations such as the elderly, differently-abled, widows, and orphans.

Key Services We Provide:

  • Free Health Camps:
Regularly organized medical check-up camps in villages to detect common illnesses, monitor health indicators, and offer basic treatments, especially for those who lack access to hospitals or clinics.

  • HIV/AIDS Awareness and Support:
Educational programs to raise awareness about HIV prevention, transmission, and testing. We also support affected individuals through counseling and referrals to government and private healthcare services.

  • Addiction Prevention Programs:
Community outreach and de-addiction awareness campaigns focused on alcoholism and drug abuse. We work closely with families and youth to promote healthier, addiction-free lifestyles.

  • Cancer Awareness and Screening:
We organize cancer awareness sessions and screening camps—especially for breast, cervical, and oral cancers—targeting early detection and timely medical referral for further treatment.

  • Support for the Elderly, Disabled & Orphans:
Through our outreach services, we provide healthcare support, emotional care, food supplies, and safe living conditions to neglected seniors, differently-abled individuals, widows, and orphaned children.
