Rural Education & Skill Development Program

At Friends Organisation for Rural Development Society, we believe that education is the cornerstone of social and economic empowerment. Through our Rural Education & Skill Development Program, we are committed to creating inclusive learning environments that nurture the potential of youth and women in rural areas.

We offer support across multiple educational levels — from school readiness to adult literacy, technical training, and job-oriented coaching. Our goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed, become self-reliant, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Key Initiatives Include:

  • Support for school and college-level education in underprivileged rural areas.
We aim to bridge the education gap by offering academic support to children and young adults from economically disadvantaged rural communities. This includes providing learning materials, scholarships, infrastructure support, and teacher assistance to ensure students have access to quality primary, secondary, and higher education. We also engage with parents and community leaders to encourage school enrollment and reduce dropout rates.
  • Literacy programs for adults who have missed formal education.

Our adult literacy programs focus on empowering individuals who did not have the opportunity to attend school during their childhood. These initiatives include basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, along with awareness on social, health, and legal rights. By educating adults, especially women, we help foster confidence and participation in family and community decision-making.

  • Technical education and vocational training programs tailored to local employment opportunities.
We provide hands-on vocational training in trades such as tailoring, carpentry, electrical work, computer literacy, agriculture, and more—based on the economic landscape of the region. These skill-building courses are designed to enhance employability, promote entrepreneurship, and provide sustainable livelihoods for youth and women in rural areas.
  • Coaching centers to help youth prepare for competitive exams and government job tests.
To help young aspirants build a secure future, we run coaching centers focused on preparing for various state and national-level competitive exams. These include SSC, Railway, Police, and other public service recruitment tests.
  • Sports and youth engagement activities that build confidence and leadership skills.
We believe in the holistic development of youth. Our programs include organizing sports events, leadership workshops, cultural activities, and community projects that help build teamwork, discipline, and confidence.
