FRIENDS Organisation for Rural Development Society is a registered non-profit association committed to transforming rural communities across Andhra Pradesh through inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered development initiatives. Founded with the vision of empowering the underserved, the organization works diligently to uplift the marginalized, strengthen communities, and improve the quality of life through multifaceted programs.
At the heart of our mission lies a deep commitment to education, healthcare, livelihood development, women and child welfare, environmental sustainability, and social rehabilitation. FRIENDS Organisation firmly believes that real change begins at the grassroots level, and hence our programs are designed to reach the remotest and most neglected areas.
Our diverse objectives reflect our broad vision for rural development and social transformation:
Educational Empowerment: We promote school, college, technical, and vocational education, along with adult literacy programs to eliminate illiteracy and boost skill development.
Agricultural and Rural Development: Our initiatives support agricultural growth, irrigation, horticulture, sericulture, food processing, and wasteland development to enhance rural livelihoods.
Health and Sanitation: We organize community health programs including HIV/AIDS awareness, cancer care, and sanitation drives to ensure healthy living in rural areas.
Women, Children & Elderly Welfare: We conduct special programs for women empowerment, child development, and run homes for orphans, the elderly, widows, and differently-abled individuals.
Youth Development & Employment: Through self-employment schemes, coaching centers, and vocational training, we create opportunities for unemployed youth to become self-reliant.
Environmental Conservation: We promote greenery, forest protection, renewable energy, and water conservation to ensure environmental sustainability.
Social Rehabilitation: We support habilitation and rehabilitation of the street children, disabled individuals, and those affected by substance abuse and poverty.
Cultural and Social Awareness: Our cultural, sports, and awareness activities encourage community bonding and social consciousness.
Micro Credit and Financial Inclusion: Through SHGs and partnerships with RMK, NABARD, SIDBI, NHFDC, NMDFC, etc., we provide micro-credit support and financial literacy to empower rural women and entrepreneurs.
Research and Advocacy: FRIENDS Organisation conducts research, publishes valuable literature, and organizes seminars, conferences, and awareness campaigns to spread knowledge and influence policy.
